Frequently Asked Questions

I thought it would be interesting to make a frequently asked questions page for my blog. Perhaps my readers can get to know me better or at least find answers to any questions they might have.

About Me:

Q. What is your real name?
A. I just go by Natalie. Sorry, but I don't feel comfortable giving my full name out on the Internet.

Q. Where do you live?
A. Again, I don't feel comfortable giving out that information, but I will tell you that I was born in Pennsylvania.

Q. How old are you?
A. That's for me to know and you to find out ;-)

Q. What are your political views?
A. I would describe myself as right-wing. If you're wondering about parties, sorry, I don't do political parties because I don't feel that any truly represent my views and interests.

Q. Can I email you?
A. Of course you can. Just keep in mind that I reserve the right to publish any email I receive, unless you explicitly request otherwise. Keep in mind that I may not have the time to answer your email - sorry! (If you wrote something nice, though, realise that it probably made me smile.) With hate mail, though, it's different. I reserve the right to publish ANY hate mail I receive (so if you want to be mean, realise I may publish your email even if you specifically request I don't).

Q. Do you have IM?
A. Yes, but I only chat with close friends. I simply don't have time to chat with loads of people - sorry!

Q. Are you any good at violin?
A. To put it mildly, yes, I am quite good.

Q. Why do you like Macs so much?
A. I think they're great and amazing and so much better than Microsoft computers. If you don't like them, you are entitled to your opinion, as I am mine.

Q. I think I'd like you. Can we meet?
A. Sorry, but no. Although you're most likely a nice, normal person, there are too many weird people out there and that's just not a risk I'm willing to take.

About My Blog

Q. What is the significance of the name of your blog?
A. Well, I like birds a lot, so I thought "birdbrain" would be cute and appropriate. And besides, it's not really an insult to call someone a "birdbrain" (at least in my view) because birds are actually quite intelligent.

Q. Then why is the URL of your blog "littledoor.blogspot.com"?
A. The URL birdbrain.blogspot.com was taken. "Little door" has great significance to me, but I am not going to explain why.

Q. How did you learn to customize your blog?
A. Here and here. Those websites taught me everything I needed to know (and they're really nice as well).

Q. I like a post you've written. May I use it in my blog?
A. You can certainly quote me on your website as long as you link back to my blog and give me credit.

Q. What is your policy on comments?
A. I welcome most comments, provided that they are civil. I reserve the right to delete any comment that uses swear words or personally attacks another commenter. Being that this is my blog, I also reserve the right to delete any comment that is incredibly stupid. Also, try to stay on-topic with the comments (i.e. no endorsements for political candidates unless it's on a politics-related thread).

Q. I like your blog so much I put in on my blogroll. Will you put my blog on your blogroll too?
A. If you send me the link and your blog is decent (i.e., not rife with spelling/grammar errors, has intelligent content, etc.), sure!

Random Stuff

Q. I have a question about computers/violin playing/knitting/something you know a lot about. Will you help me?
A. I'd be delighted to try to help you. Just drop me a line.

Q. I have a suggestion for something for you to post about. Will you post it if I tell you about it?
A. You are certainly welcome to email me your suggestions, but there is no guarantee I will use them. It's nothing personal, but usually I do not have trouble coming up with my own topics. Still, if your idea is really good, I might use it (and of course give you credit for it).
